after two days of keeping myself solitary in my room i have finally ended my agony consisting of homework reports and such. congratulations and i gave myself a pat on the back. whew! before the semester started i told myself that i will TRY not to procrastinate. obviously so, i'm having a hard time TRYING.
now my question is, why do we put off things we know we shouldn't? the answer to that question is we don't want to face the inevitable. the homework that i just painfully accomplished was assigned to us 2 weeks ago. i knew this particular assignment would be time consuming and yet i still chose to do what i just did. procrastinate.
people procrastinate on so many things. work. school. groceries. dishes. laundry. love. living. they choose to not experience life as a whole. example? people who refuse to try foreign edibles..those who refuse to travel..those who refuse to love..those who refuse to read..those who refuse to love for the 2nd time, for the 3rd time..those who refuse to grow old..etc. but if given a time limit, would they still procrastinate life? or would they rather procrastinate death? i don't know about you, but i choose the latter. this may sound cliche but it is true: Life is short. Live it to the fullest.
a lot of people are lucky enough to actually travel, meet different people, try new things. and some people, like manong guard, or manong driver, or yaya ising, or manang labandera are stuck to where they've been situated their whole life. but life itself is comical sometimes. who knows.. maybe manong guard, although stuck in one location, did not let his situation procrastinate living. he might have met more interesting people than Don Juan did. he might have eaten stranger edibles that Don Manuel did. he might have read more interesting articles in his Playboy magazine collections than all the kolehiyo kids out there in their school textbooks. he might actually have more work experiences than anyone of us do. in the past, at some point in time, he might have been manong driver, boy, manong na naglalako ng ice cream, isaw, pishbol, kwek kwek at sari sari pa, and takatak boy. he is living his life. he has been, to the fullest and what are the rest of us doing? some may be blogging.
goodnight.
