Talent 101

it feels good to be back. it's been a few days that i've been distracted with my super stressful academic life. however, my social life is still well and alive. a few days ago, one afternoon, friends of mine dragged me to go mini golfing with them, and the result? voila! i have a newly-found skill! i was the best at that game for that night. top player. congratulations! and i gave myself a pat on the back.
i know and have met a few people who are extremely talented and i envy them. i consider myself, sadly enough, talentless. i am so average that i don't think i can be excellent at anything. i can be really well at it, but i don't think i can be well enough to actually stand out in the crowd. when i do stand out, i consider it luck. don't think i'm putting myself down. these thoughts are coming from personal observations and self-critique.

ok maybe we should go back to talent 101. talent is the amazing natural capability of a person to do something really well. artists, musicians, painters, illustrators, filmmakers, engineers, etc. those are all talented people. they are gifted to share their natural knowledge. yes the world is, indeed, unfair. i have accepted that fact and nowhere am i near bitterness. being average is working out well for me. i'm sure i'm not alone on this one.
